Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July! We went to Portland this year, on the opposite side of the Willamette from the Blues Festival. We arrived there at 4pm, and the show started at 10:10pm... we had a good spot, so it was almost worth it. ;) The fireworks were amazing and loud as heck. The booms bounced off of the bridge above us, making it even more loud and obnoxious! It was an Independence Day well spent, and glad I could spend time with the family. :)

I just thought this was funny when I saw it on the way out. ;)

Mall, Makeovers, and Piggy-Back Rides

What happens when we go to Sephora...

I tried to fix the lipstick, but not much could be done.

Proving that 8 people can fit between 4 chairs.

A close-up of Kamila's make-over.

He demands head massages and snacks... is this boy spoiled or what?

The little girls in the hot tub!

Maddy and I decided to test our strength by giving Daddy piggy-back rides. We succeeded.

Camping!

This year, we didn't do the regular "Douglas Camping Trip," which consists of total isolation in the woods and doing whatever we want. This year, Na decided to rent 2 yurts at Tumalo State Park near Bend, OR. It was 8 people per yurt, plus a tent for Lance and Taylor, then a fire pit for each yurt. We had clean bathrooms and showers, obviously running water, and the Deschutes River to play in during the 100 degree days we were there. Overall, it was a lot of fun, and we were able to find new hiking trails, play games (that don't involve electronics), and have quality time with the family.

This is what one of the yurts looks like (ft. Taylor).

This is the inside of one of the yurts.

Our "chickmunk" friend that we named Squishy! We fed him TONS of peanuts.

Maddy fishin' on the river.

Everyone was excited to go camping!... Then there was Gracie.

When the sticks for marshmallows were first passed out, it was war.

What is Daddy looking at?

Taylor and I were told to fetch some water, and by the time it was close to full, I couldn't lift it. So this picture captures me spraying him with freezing cold water as he is trying to help me... I'm a pretty nice cousin. :)

On our way back from camping, all 17 of us got Dutch Brother's coffee... It was a good day for that store.
